I am curious to see what it would take, and how many people would have to agree to change a rule. This is regarding the rule that if 1 of 2 people jump the start, both cars are sent back. I understand that the rule has been in effect for quite awhile now, and I can understand the tracks' reasoning for making this rule. I find it very unfair that one person, jumping a start should affect the other person. There are a lot of rules put in to place to try and keep racing fair for all, and I just see this as the exact opposite. How does anybody else feel on this issue? I asked a couple of people on Friday, and even an official does not like it. I understand that there may be some instances where it will be a close call, and someone will always be unhappy no matter how a decision is made. But if the flagmen are watching the front row as they throw the green, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to make that call? Or even the people up in the tower? Some input from other racers would be great.
