November N.M.S.A. Meeting Minutes


N.M.S.A. Club Meeting Minutes

Meeting Date: Tuesday, November 6th 2012

Location/Time: Mount Vernon Round Table Pizza, 7 P.M.

Officers in Attendance: President Kelly Mauck, Vice-President Jared Gunderson, and Treasurer Kimberly Lemley.

Treasury Report: Account Balance, $15,470.67

Motion by Mike Allen to accept the treasury report, motion passed unanimously.

Old Business Addressed:

-The club will be continuing the iPad donation to the Mount Baker school district in Baileys name

-It was brought up if we will continue donating to Baileys current school, or if the donation will follow her as she enters high school. A statement was made saying that high schools have funding for such items, elementary and middle schools do not. This matter will be addressed at a later meeting.

New Business Brought Up:

-Mike Allen asked who the $500 yearly donation will go to this year;

-Kim Lemley asked whether someone was going to put forth a motion for who the donation will go to. Over the next month, club members are asked to think of others who they feel may be deserving of the donation and bring that information to our December meeting.

-Kelly Mauck asked club members to nominate people for next years club officers;

Nominations included:

President-Kelleigh Johnson (Nominated by Kelly Mauck, 2nd-Nikki Ramey)

Vice President-Jason Bloodgood (Nominated by Kim Lemley, 2nd-Jared Gunderson)

Secretary-Nikki Ramey (Nominated by Jared Gunderson, 2nd-Spud Allen)

Treasurer-Kim Lemley (Willing to stay in office)

-Mike Allen brought up the issue of 50/50 ticket sales. He asked exactly how ticker sellers were determined, President Kelly Mauck stated that the top ten in point standing from each class from the previous year is put into the 50/50 schedule, and then after that, racers are put into the schedule at random. It is possible for someone to sell tickets two different nights in the season because of having two different cars registered in the club.

-Mike Allen asked if there was a way to have people that are heavily involved in the track omitted from the schedule.

-Spud Allen brought up that there are some people that should be selling tickets, that arent, and things should be changed, so that the same people arent selling week after week.

 -Kelly Mauck said that Paul Lemley will be attending the upcoming meetings to discuss any rule changes, and to have club members think of different questions that they may have for Paul and have them ready for the next meeting.

-Kelly Mauck asked if anyone was willing to propose a motion to do away with grievance committees, since they arent being taken advantage of. Brock Lemley recommended to talk to Paul before getting rid of them, this will be brought up at the next meeting.

-Kim Lemley asked that club members talk to their sponsors and see if they are willing to donate items for the banquet raffle.

-BANQUET TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE, PLEASE CONTACT KIM LEMLEY TO PURCHASE YOURS. INFORMATION ABOUT THE BANQUET IS ON THE DEMING SPEEDWAY WEBSITE.

-Club membership/Pit stall dues can be paid starting in January, $40 for a membership, and $10 for a pit stall. Kelly Mauck asked if anyone had a problem was the current prices, and everyone agreed that they should stay the same for the upcoming season.

-Tire winner: Austin Sheridan

-Kim Lemley proposed a motion to adjourn, 2nd-Spud Allen

NEXT MEETING WILL BE HELD TUESDAY DECEMBER 4TH, 2012 AT THE MOUNT VERNON ROUND TABLE PIZZA AT 7 P.M.
