Tech Inspection Dates, Times, Info.

At the February 1st Meeting tech dates were tentatively scheduled however, the February 26th date is being re-scheduled to avoid any conflict with the Swap Meet in Burlington.

Pre-Race Season Tech will be held at Deming Speedway in Paul's shop on March 5th and March 12th starting at 10:00 AM.  (MUST HAVE APPT)

YOU MUST CONTACT TECH BRAD HOLTORF PRIOR TO THESE DATES TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TIME FOR ONE OF THE ABOVE LISTED DATES @ 360-220-1290.

There is no tech fee if you have your motor tech'd on these two dates other than a $5.00 fee to pay for the motor seals.

If you are unable to have your motor tech'd on either of these two dates you may still contact Brad and arrange a time to have your motor tech'd at Brad's shop located in Bellingham however, you will be required to pay a $25 tech fee.

Why pre-tech & seal motors prior to race season?
Pre-tech and sealing motors accomplishes a few things.  First and foremost it is more of a convenience factor for the racers.  The last thing most racers and crews want to do after a long night of racing is to drain oil, remove covers, etc.  Pre-tech & sealed motors last year made it a very simple process.

Pre-tech & sealed motors give competitors confidence that rules are being followed and applied fairly.  It helps to minimize or prevent arguments.

Time -  Pre-tech allows/permits the tech inspector to focus post-race tech activity on other tech aspects such as fuel, bore & stroke, etc.

Who should be tech'd prior to the race season?
1.  600 open cars claiming to have a stock bottom end (775 lb weight)
2.  1200's that do not have a motor seal in tact from last seasons tech.
3.  All restricted 600's regardless of motor seal from 2010.

What if I haven't been tech'd and my motor isn't sealed?
If your motor is not tech'd and sealed prior to the race season you can still race however, you may be required, at the Tech or Tracks discretion to have your motor tech'd & sealed after the nights events regardless of your finishing position in any main event.  Any person refusing to be tech'd will be disqualified.  If you are tech'd and found to be illegal, you will be disqualified.  If you are tech'd and found to be legal you can have your motor sealed if desired w/ $5 fee for seal.

Paul and Brad are still deciding on what fee if any will be applicable for those racers who have not been tech'd & sealed prior to race day.  As soon as as this has been finalized you will be informed.

If you have any questions please contact Brad at the number listed above or you can contact me at 360-661-6284.

Thanks,
Kelly Mauck

I neglected to put a few things in the original post so here they are:

It is preferrable that your motor not be installed in the car for the tech however, if it is already installed you can bring the whole car.

Prior to arriving at the Tech Inspection you should drain all oil from your motor and remove all but 2 of the oil pan bolts.

Thanks,
Kelly
