I have a suggestion to help the track be more smooth. I think we should pack longer so the track can dry out a little more cuz when the 600 and 1200 go out to race they tear up the track. So if we pack longer the track will dry out more and it wont get torn up. I know it might be more dusty but its better than flipping your car. Just a suggestion
Bring up the speed and reduce the number of cars on the track while packing. The current method of cars idling along slipping the clutch does nothing to actually pack the track in, it just gets smoothed over. Then when the big cars actually lean on it, The RR carves in like a knife in butter. We need to bring the packing pace up and the clay will pack much faster and hold together better. reducing water in the shaded half would help too. With as many cars as we have, each car should only be on the track 10 laps or so. some guys pack the entire time, and the track gets so congested that the clay never really packs. If you think about it, 2/3s of the cars at deming are 750lbs or less, so we don't pack much just sitting on the track.
I know the track is trying very hard to combat the significant dust problem that the 600's and 1200's have faced for several weeks. perhaps inverting the order will give the 1200's a little more moisture keeping dust down. the 250's don't have the tire spin and big wings to kick up so much dust, plus the 1200 main seems to smooth the track. This would be very helpful for the smaller cars (the joint fluid that is supposed to be in my elbow blew out and is in my forearm after last weeks whoops).
