Unfortunatly, nobody makes them. That means all of us with side tanks have to switch to tail tanks. Check out Randy's deal on them (posted below). You wont find a better deal.
We had hoped since the 250's don't generate an open flame in the exhaust, only run 150 degree engine temp, and can still use aluminum rotors when others need Titanium that there would be no reason to require them, but Deming is mandataing that all (except JR's) will have bladders.
I'd feel much safer with a 5 gallon bucket of water in every pit stall- I wasn't impressed with the extinguishers used last year at all- that fire took way too long to put out.
Yes, its unfortunate that there will be an impact on car count since the bladder is 20% of the cost of a competitive 250, where as it is less than 10% of the cost of a competitive 600 or 1200. Thats a lot of money, when you consider 250's at Deming for 20 years (gas and alcohol) and no fires.
I see the risk with the 600 and 1200, more weight, more speed, more heat.
