Buckwalter Wins PA 600 Speedweek Round 2

Milville, PA For Tim Buckwalter, it doesnt matter if he is driving 358 Mods, Midgets or Micro Sprints; he can and will win. This proved true with the bright lights of PA 600 Speedweek shining on Sunday night at Greenwood Valley Action Track. Buckwalter would lead every lap of the main event from the outside pole position for his third micro win of the season in the Gary & Donna Spots #25 Triple X.

With heavy rains hitting the track early in the afternoon, GVAT crews set to work trying to recover the surface so that the nights race could go on as scheduled. While the program did run a little late (cars began wheel packing around 8pm), the entirety of the program was run, much to Buckwalters liking. After an impressive performance in his heat race secured him a spot in the dash, Tim improved his main event starting spot by two places, using both the inside and outside groove to grab a second place finish in the dash and an outside pole position start on the nights main event. The original green was nullified by a spin out, but on the ensuing start, Buckwalter crossed under pole sitter Kyle Lick coming oout of turn two and again coming out of turn four of the first lap to take the lead. From there, Buckwalter raced away to a large advantage that would have held if not for a caution on lap 11. With the field bunched back together and a double file restart looming, Buckwalter leaned on his many years of racing experience, moving his car deftly from top to bottom and bottom to top in the corners to keep the field from getting a run on him on the first few laps after the restart. With traffic looming once again, Buckwalter streaked away, sealing up the $1,000 win as he crossed under the checkered flags on lap 35. I have to thank Garry and Donna they put so much effort into this car! said Tim as he held the big check and trophy at nights end.
