Deming Speedway welcomed Father Kelley Kahne, and Sister Shannon Kahne Adams Friday night for a night of presentations, fun and racing. Kasey Kahne paid all drivers pit entry for this nights racing, and it was announced that next year Kasey Kahne and Bellingham Chrysler Center would once again sponsor the Jr. Sprints. Kelley Kahne addressing the near packet house crowd reminisced about the fond memories at the start of Kasey’s racing career at Deming Speedway, and had high praise for the owners Paul and Bev Lemley, the racing surface and the entire staff. Shannon is in charge of the Kasey Kahne Foundation, and spoke of the benefits to terminally ill children that the foundation would help.
Kelley and Shannon made the presentation of a raffle, sponsored by the Kasey Kahnr Foundation to be held at Deming Speedway Septenber 30, 2005. Trip for two to Phoenix International Raceway including airfare, hotel, and a meet and great with Kasey. Second place an autographed Kasey Kahne jacket, and third place two season passes to Deming Speedway. The tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the track; you need not be present to win. All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the Mt. Baker School District. Kelley also presented Jr sprint pit boss Dee Hallmark an autographed Kasey Kahne jacket as thanks for all her hard work with the class.
Also announced was the sportsman Jr. Sprint driver of the year, which also gets a trip to P.I.R. for two, and a chance to meet Kasey Kahne, airfare and hotel, included. This Years winner is Jarrod Saddler.
Kelley and Shannon were presented with sweatshirts and hats courtesy of Deming Speedway and Kentch Racing, and T-shirts were presented for Kasey’s shop crew by the track.

Brock Lemley qualified fourth fast and when lucks going your way it’s all goog; the pill draw for the inversion was a four. Brock started first and ended first. Two duels on the track were between Jason Bloodgood and Aaron Fell for second and third, and Eric drake and fast qualifier Eric Fischer. Side by side duels between these pairs kept the crowd excited as the laps wore down. In the end, it was Bloodgood second; Fell third, Drake and Fischer fourth and fifth respectively. B main transfers were Ben Hallmark and Matt Lahay. Hallmark finished nineth and Lahay eighth.

Ben Hogarth Dominates Main Event
Ben Hogarth, was fourth quick qualifier on the night, which put him on the pole for the “A” main, He won it going away. Fast qualifier Shane Broer, tied his own track record at 10.498. Blake Brigge due to a poor qualifying effort, started the race in eleventh position, he gained the most places, finishing third in the main event.

J.R. Thomas Wins One for Crane Racing
J.R. Thomas subbing for Sean Crane through the end the season won from the outside pole position, getting the jump on inside pole sitter Dustin O’Brien. Perenial winner Jake Benson started fourth and wasted no time getting to the front. By lap five he had tracked down Thomas but was not able to mount a serious threat. Benson’s motor went sour half way through the race and his night ended, as was the case for Clay Cup Champion Eric Turner two laps later. Dustin O’Bryan finished second and Devin Madonia was third.

Leslie Davies won her first career main event Friday night. Davies, currently sixth in points got a good start from the pole and left the rest of the field behind. The only serious threat came from Gary Liljebeck. Gary got a nose beside her twice, but could not pull along side for the pass. Liljebeck finished second, and Jake Benson Third.

Rad Chad Wins Another!
Chad Sinner closed the points gap some last night by winning, Chad sixth in points starting the night, twenty-five points behind Leader Jacon Buckenmeyer who finished seventh. From inside row two Sinner wasted little getting to the point position and held on to win the eighteen lap main event. Michael Liljebeck and Justin Wedekind rounded the top three.
