The great thing is we live in a free counrty and they dont have to come back! I think this weekend proved we have one of the toughest 600 fields in the counrty. Anybody would be at a disadvantage coming to this track, its a tough place to get around. Congrats to paul and bevLemley and the two winners from this weekend. It was a great show!!!

We would like to start out by saying we are truly sorry that Pace Chassis did not enjoy their trip up to Deming Speedway for the 27th Annual Clay Cup Nationals.

With that being said however we do not feel it is neither necessary nor tactful to publish lies about a track or any business for that matter.  We are fully aware that we will never be able to please every single driver, owner or fan and that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.  But making things up is wrong.

Just to clarify a few of the items mentioned.

From the website  When all the Qualifying points were added up and track informed the drivers that there was a program change. NO SCRAMBLE?  We all just had to shake our heads and laugh at the situation. Adding insult to injury winners from the last two nights received a bag of Shrimp in place of cold hard cash

Truth:  We published rules, that were available to all drivers at the pit gate on Thursday that included the program structure for the weekend and there was NO mention of a scramble for Saturday night.  For the payout portion, we never payout for qualifying nights (Thur and Fri) of Clay Cup.  Payouts have always been for the final night, this was not changed because the purse was increased.  We actually published a guaranteed purse of $37,500.00, however paid out a total of $39,250.00.  As for the shrimp, we would like to say

THANK YOU to Hailing Seafood’s, one of our track sponsors and car sponsors for donating the shrimp to the drivers!

Match Races for

Both classes $100.00 each

From the website   Track prep made for a one grove racing surface the last two days of the Clay Cup this had many scratching their heads and from the video No track prep after Thursday nights main event!

Truth: You might want to take a peek at your own video, there are a number of cars using both they high and low groves of the track, your own driver included.  There was also some mighty fine racing in the 1200 class that also included more then one lane of track. And for anyone that did not camp at the track, the track was graded both Friday and Saturday mornings… sorry to all you campers that got woken up to beautiful sound of the grader.

From the video Over 18 black flags in 3 days

Truth:  There were 4 black flags not 18.  There could have been a number of warnings, I do not have an official count on those, but only 4 cars were blacked flagged over the 3 days.  1 in the B main on Thursday, 1 in a heat and one in the A main on Friday and 1 in the A main on Saturday.

From the video Points for the entire 3 day event false!

Truth: That is true we did not give points for Saturday night, however I am not sure where is says we would or what the purpose would be in doing it.  Thursday and Friday Nights of Clay Cup are qualifying nights, you are given points.  You then take your best point’s night into Saturday and the mains are lined up from there.

On behalf of all of us here at Deming Speedway we would like to thank all of you for coming and making the 27th Annual Clay Cup a great weekend of racing. You drivers really showed the fans some entertaining racing.  We know we will never please everyone; however all of us here put forth a lot of time and effort to make Deming a great place to race.  We appreciate all the people that come out not only for Clay Cup but week after week and spend there hard earned money on racing and welcome any constructive criticism you may have.

On Friday Night in turn three I had a couple guess with me and that was one of the things we talked about was how wide the track was

It was the first time these two gentleman have been that close to a track (out side and high) and at that angle to watch a race and these two guys go to alot of races each year and they have owned race teams in the past that traveled the country sprint racing (and that other type of racing I cant remember what its called at this moment)

I watched the grader both Friday morning and Saturday morning on the track when I was having biscuits and gravy served in the grandstands with a number of people

Deming -

That was without questions three nights of some of the best racing I have ever experienced.  To say it was a one groove track is an absolute joke and only demonstrates how petty and obviously ignorant that person is being!  I saw more cars running the top in the 600 class than I ever have and yes I was woken up by the grader but it was like the sound of music!

Again...18 black flags?   Apparently they watched the same video multiple times and added the same black flag up over and over!

Some feedback from some other California Drivers including one of the Pace drivers after Thursday night:  "There are some great drivers out here (Deming), and the track is differnt from what I'm used to, Stone said, It's smaller and a little more banked but I was able to battle through it."   Another Quote from Same Pace Driver:  "It was great up top, Stone said."

Other California Drivers:  "This is a tough track, but a hell of a lot of fun."  "There are some great drivers up here."  "I had a ton of fun and will definitely be back next year."  "I wish I would have brought my car this racing is kick ass."

I am disappointed about one thing though!   I DIDN'T GET ANY DAMN SHRIMP!

By the way.. Congratulations to Reece Goetz and Brock Lemley...Well deserved wins!

I also would like to clarify what actually happened in regards to the mentioned "vandalism Incident".
Immediately after hearing the rumor I personally visited the Pace camp area and talked to several members of there race team. I was told that someone found a wire connector unplugged on the car that won the previous 600 main event. I mentioned to them that the car mechanic was required to disconnect the coils during the Tech inspection. The reply I got back was "Don't worry about it, They probably forgot to plug the connector back in"

Somehow this got turned into a wire harness that was ripped out of the car.???????

As far as my opinion about this years Clay Cup goes ......

I had a great time. (even though my favorite driver did not win)
The Track prep, People and Racing was awesome to say the least.

I watched the Pace Video. (I have watched allot of my own drivers in car cam footage too)

My opinion....
Being to aggressive on a technical track will get you in trouble and Black flagged. Especially if you run into other competitors multiple times. The Pace Car Cam Vid" clearly shows very aggressive driving.

Also in regards to another Black flag incident that took place...
Loosing your cool when things are not going your way and nerf bashing someone multiple times during a yellow will also earn you a Black Flag at our track. Even if it is racing for last place!

I am totally puzzled by the unprofessional behavior that was demonstrated by those who are making a living off selling Cars and parts to fellow competitors in this sport.

Do they not understand what the end result will be?
Do they really think they are just to good for it to matter?

I on the other hand would have taken a much different approach by passing out Tee shirts, pens, cup holders, And all the while smiling even if I did not win.

I guess it was much easier to go home butt hurt and make a stupid video trying to somehow justify not winning.

This was my first Clay Cup and it was the best racing I have ever competed in. The track was far from a one lane track, you could run up top, down low and in the middle. I would like to thank the Lemely family and anyone who was part of making that show happen. You guys did a awesome job!

Being a Pace Chassis owner ,we had fun no matter the outcome ....I would like to add That PMP (Stan)  did infact dwindle his company Rep. down the toilet with his childish manner and high school scrapiness ...what are the new and upcoming drivers learning from these role models   ?????

I guess i needed my named dragged into this to make some people happy . I guess  you cannot talk to someone who ran you over twice in my opinion and in some peoples mind just once and then have the pit bouncer attack you for no reason is bullsh*t . Dont try to turn it around on me when i was ASSAULTED by someone is who is close to 400 lbs for no reason . Ive been to Clay Cup on and off for 18 years and have seen the good the bad and the ugly. Ron Wood if you think my reputation is down toilet believe whatever you want . Mr Holtorf i was already done for being spun twice but yes you are right when you are in the back with the squirrels what does one expect? Other than that it was nice to come up and see some old friends and give Paul a bad time and do some racing even though we didnt perform like we expected but it is what it is so if anyone thinks this response is childish so be it i will tell it how it is and theres no crying here and i should be able to stick up for myself . Apparently there is just one respectfull car builder in the business that i have personaly been ran over and seen that person stuff several cars over the years . LET THE BASHING BEGIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, People lets tone'er down a notch.  This is not supposed to be a fighting match on the message board.  We all want to have a good time and everyone sees things from a different perspective.  Everyone at the track just wanted to make sure we cleared up some of the false information that was being portrayed.  Let's race and have fun and quit all the childish antics.  Thanks

There is no bashing going on here ....just conveying what the fans and future racers see while at the race track,,please don't take it personally -just one persons opinion.  I would like to remind ya'all that there were 4 different chassis 's in the top 5 all 3 days of racing.  Thanks again for Deming Speedways hard work to make this all happen   Clay Cup and our weekly shows

Stanley I am only 340 lbs. Clearly not close to 400. And I have never taken steroids as you implied on another site. To some I may be a freak though. But enough about me personally. We can talk about me some other day over a cold beverage. (it doesn't let you put "rooster" tail) Now..... as far as the incident is concerned. You were told to go back to your pit area several times. When you refused to and tried to advance closer to the car I simply put my hand on your chest and told you AGAIN to go back to your pit. You then grabbed a hold of me. This is when things turned bad for you. And being that I simply held you on the ground and maybe smashed your face a little I think you got off fairly easy. Yes your finger was bitten. But you did try fish hooking me. I simply took the bait. Thanks for the scratches. They make for a good story. Oh and tell your boys if they're gonna jump in at least hit like a man. Hope you can breath better now. I know that's what you were whining about down there. On a brighter note what a helluva race in the 1200s. Congrats to Brock. Wood Hood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is unnecessary and uncalled for.  Let me repeat myself just so we are all clear.  Everyone at the track just wanted to make sure we cleared up some of the false information that was being portrayed.  This message board is not a place for anyone to take a shot at someone that made them unhappy at Clay Cup.  Everyone is going to have a different perspective on how things played out and that's ok.  Let's just leave it all at the track and between the drivers involved.  Here's to having a good race weekend no matter where that may be. biggrin

I'd like to say a couple of things just to add to this whole **** storm of comments.. beside I have a difficult time keeping my mouth shut!

First and foremost I think that people are entitled to criticize Deming Speedway all they want but I think the manner in which they do it reveals an awful lot about their character.  Personally, if I were a business owner I would never act the way Pace Chassis is acting in front of my potential customers...It just seems like bad business to me but it is his business so he can sink or swim by making his own decisions.  The people that race weekly at Deming Speedway know it is one of if not the best tracks in the country and the experience is a lot more than just the racing!

Secondly...Tensions run very high in this sport and primarily because of the personality types of the people that participate!  It's not a bad thing!   Sumo and Stan had a lack of communication!  Stan wanted to chat with Shaun and Shauns crew was taking care of their driver!  I don't blame either of you and most importantly I don't hear either one of you guys crying like a damn baby about it!  Everything I know and have heard about both of you tells me that both of you are damn good guys and quite frankly next year you probably will be laughing about it and drinking some beers together!

Third...Ryan Reeves is one hell of a driver who had a difficult few days at Deming Speedway.  Who hasn't?  and he certainly wasn't the only one.  It's a tight track and things happen.  Did he deserve 3 black flags?  Maybe.. Maybe not but he got them and there isn't any taking it back.  I personally would like to see Ryan come back to Deming because he does bring with him a ton of talent and I think things would go much better for him next time.

Fourth....Why in the hell don't they come to Deming Speedway and do a reality TV show... We could kick the **** out of Madhouse!

I am not stupid i wasnt going to open the door for what you did .Enough of the that and by the way i was trying to scratch your eye out to get you off me since i couldnt breath and in your mind whining too much . Its all good what comes around goes around they its Karma.beer.gif Theres your cold one !
