Deming Speedway would like to know how many of you would be willing to race/spectate Sunday afternoon if mother nature does not cooperate with us Friday night. We need your help to decide if this is something that would work. If you would be up for this please let us know. We would like to have all your feedback by tomorrow at noon if possible, in hopes we have enough feedback to make a decision tomorrow afternoon to allow for enough time to get the word out.
We love the idea of a make up race on Sunday after all these rain-outs but hopefully this will be a day race since it will be a work/school night and some of us have quite a drive to the track!
If it runs on Sunday it shouldn't be for points. Some people have family day on Sunday and shouldn't be held at a disavantage. ( not that my points matter though lol)
I would be there for sure!! All that Paul and crew do for us during the race season to make sure we have a great track to race on it would be a pleasure to help out in return, and in the funnest way possible I might add and heck yeah Mauck we need to get the word out to all if it happens :)

Well I hope its not a points race cause im scheduled to work. Some of us work crazy schedules that are ever changing and have to do alot to be there every friday. That said i would try to get someone to cover my shift but if not i dont want to loose points.
Any other weekend and I would say yes....but my wedding is on Saturday and I don't think the wife would be too happy if i told her i wanted to delay the honeymoon for an unscheduled race.....I'd have to make arrangements for somebody else to drive.
I would oppose a sunday "rain-date" being a points-race, as many people go to great lengths to be able to participate in a friday-night program, and cannot easily alter their schedules to accomodate a saturday or sunday event. I'm not sure it would be fair for these individuals to loose their position in the points-chase because of previous commitments that were built around the original schedule.
In summary....
I SUPPORT a Sunday Race.... I OPPOSE awarding points on a Sunday unless its part of the original schedule...
Thats my two cents...
Thanks,
Eric Turner

If they decide to race on Sunday, it would be nice to have that day be a non-points race for those of us who can't make it because we have arranged our work schedules around the Friday night race schedules.
Talked to Barry at Speedmart and he said they would be there for us!
Points or no points I'd like to race! By the way most sports reschedule missed events and they still keep score.

While many organizations/sporting events do re-schedule, i'd doubt that they re-schedule on less than 5 days notice. Furthermore, many of those organizations likely have some sort of pre-determined process for how they handle re-scheduling events. I think it would be more than fair to do rain-dates on sunday's, but give folks a little time to clear their schedules before it counts for points (Maybe give a 1 month "notice" that as of July 1st, all rain-outs will be re-scheduled for sunday afternoon). Just a thought.
Mr. Handlos is right, making it count (for points) will ensure a strong car count...but is 5 days notice enough?

Couldn't of been said any better. A little more notice time for re-scheduling rain outs will give everyone a fair chance to make it.

Lets do a 3 day race weekend! July 2-3-4, the 3-4 wingless, I think the fans would come due to most have monday the 5th off.... What better way to enjoy the 4th.....
Yeah man!! The Fell's just wanna' race. We're wondering about some more Sunday dates just too make up those darned "R" (I just can't say it) outs. That is race Friday and Sunday on same weekend too satisfy the racing gods. On the points thing, I believe the fairest would be to award points only for the original posted scheduled races. I was a shift worker for a while and fully realize that plans and schedules have to be made far in advance. To add points races to a previously set schedule, is certainly going to eliminate a few competitors. BUT, it just might add a few that are unable to accomodate Friday racing. Hmmmmmmm.
