Used. lightweight tach.  Simple 3 wire install, reads to 19990, peak RPM memory. 
Works on 2&4 strokes 1-8 cylinders.  FTZ sells for $150.  Works great.  $80

does it store only top rpm per run or can it do per lap peak rpm

It does not have a lap-based system... Peak only.
