Club Dues

At the last club meeting, I was told everybody who signs in at the pit gate pays a $1.00 dues. Just wondering what our $40.00 dues go towards, and who benefits from the $40.00 dues? Thanks Doug

$1 per pit pass is the 'general membership' dues. This entitles you to a vote on general club rules. All participants in the pit area become general members via this rule (Ref 1.1, 13.7)

$40 registers a car & number, and makes the car eligible for club points (Ref. 1.2, 1.2a, 13.7)

$10 pit stall reservation is permitted by Deming Speedway as a courtesy. This keeps the pit area organized (in theory!), speeds up setup time, and generates additional points fund revenue.

All money goes into the club's general fund. From this fund, awards, Banquet costs, and other club expenditures are drawn. Points money is also distributed from this fund, once the year's expenses have been subtracted.

So your saying and maybe i should just read the rule...but what your saying is ANYONE who buys a pit pass can vote at a club meeting?? and what are "general rules"?? is this a new thing cause i distinctively remember being denied my vote on the weight rule in 2006 because i had not paid my 40 dollar registration dues and was not a "member"..but according to this rule because i paid a pit pass for every single event i should have been allowed to vote?? Is this correct?? just curious thanks JR Thomas..

JR, in 2006, as now, you must pay your dues, be a car owner/ representitive in good standing to vote on car class rules. General members have been able to vote on general club rules. As you said, you should probably read the rule book. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin Doug Brown "Past President" NWMSRA
