Micros at Salem - Sunday Feb 27th

They're holding the indoor event in Salem this Sunday. Bring your 250 or 600s and shake off the rust! If you race 600s you'll be able to match up against WMRA regulars.

For details:

The track is in a new (for both the Salem series and the fairgrounds) bigger building with state of the art sound system and ventilation. The track will apparently be banked at around 6 degrees.

Purse for micros to be determined by number of entries.

Jim

RE: Micros at Salem - TRACK DETAILS

From Peggi...

The spectator gate at the Pavillion will open at 8:30am for spectators in the grandstands. Everyone, Bob has told me that if your family is at the back gate where pit passes are sold, but they are not getting a pit pass, they will not be able to drive into the pits. So our suggestion is to go to the Sunnyview entrance to drop them for the Pavillion spectator gate. Sorry, but we have security and unfamiliar staff manning the pit gate. With pit passes you may go back and forth between the pits and grandstands. If they do not put your pit pass on you at the gate, please put it on immediately after recieving, like I said, there will be security looking for armbands, if you don't have one on, they will bring you to me and I will have to sell you another one for $15. ALL DRIVER REGISTRATION will be inside the building. Through the back opening and to the right. We will be inside the room next to the concession stand on the right side wall.

Next order of business...THE TRACK IS BUILT, WENT UP YESTERDAY AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL!! WHAT A WELL PREPPED TRACK. We should be able to see some 3-wide racing on that surface!! From the inside berm to the upper edge there is 31 feet. The entire track is banked at about 6 inches at the inside berm to about 2 and 1/4 feet at the top. I am in awe. Bob is going to line the outside between the upper edge and the concrete wall with hay bales (a little more forgiving...) The staging area is going to be uncluttered and the pits are nicely set up.

There is a live press conference tomorrow (Thursday, Feb 24) for the media at 4pm. This is an open opportunity to view the track and get any questions answered. Bob, Bill and I will all be there.

I have to work at the real job Weds., Thurs., and Friday night. If you have any questions, please call me after 7am and before 1:30pm. PLEASE DO NOT MAIL IN PRE ENTRIES AFTER TODAY!! I am leaving for Salem early Saturday and on my way out will check PO Box, but if I don't have yours I will have to charge you at the event and send back whatever comes in late.
