Due to popular demand, Jackson Prairie Speedway is looking into running a 600 wingless minisprint series on asphalt for the 2007 season. In the next couple of weeks we will be doing tire testing to find the right combination of tires and compounds that fit our track. We will also be testing carbs and restrictors. All races at JPS are held on Saturday nights. For more information contact Jamie Guenther at 360-880-9667.

We had a tire and test session here today at JPS with the Starks family. Trey ran well over 300 laps in his 600 minisprint running with and without a restrictor. At this time we are definately planning on running a wingless, restricted 600 class here at JPS in 2007. Most likely will be requiring Hoosier LC 5 asphalt tire on right rear, with all other tires to be minimum LC 3. More info to follow as we get the details worked out..........Jamie Guenther, Jackson Prairie Speedway, 360-880-9667

We're currently trying to put together an 8 race series here for restricted, wingless 600's. All races will be on Saturday night. It's our intent to avoid any scheduling conflicts with Deming Speedway in case any of you folks may want to come down and play. Hopefully we'll have our schedule finalized within the next month...............Jamie Guenther

Just a quick update on 600 wingless minisprints on asphalt at JPS. We've received lots of inquiries about this series primarily from "junior drivers" and their dads. At this time our intent is to run a restricted class for kids only. We will be having a meeting in December down in Salem at the indoor race to finish working out all the details. We've also had several inquiries about running some junior sprint races here also. That also is a possibility. Feel free to contact me for comments or questions at 360-880-9667...........jamie guenther

Jerrod,
I'm going down to the indoor race at Salem on December 2nd to discuss an age limit with the 600 folks along with some other issues. I'm sure we're also going to take into consideration the amount of driving experience a racer has. This class is not intended to be a class for beginners. As you probably already know, these cars are very fast even with a restrictor. In addition, the Hoosiers tires have lots of grip along with our banking. If you'd like to add you're input, give me a call at 360-880-9667..........jamie guenther

Dave, we had a fellow by the name of Jim Venable looking into having an adult stock class. I know he made lots of phone calls but couldn't generate any interest. Keep in mind, our track is asphalt, and we are running wingless and the cars aren't sideways in the corners scrubbing off speed. These cars even with restrictors are VERY fast. Feel free to call me on my cell phone if you have any questions. 360-880-9667...........Jamie Guenther
