Turner Racing has partnered with a new sponsor and will be carrying a safe lightweight affordable battery solution for your 600 and 1200 engines. 240, and 360 amp options available (we will be running the 240 in both cars). Want to lighten that JR sprint starter? We can help there too!
The 240 amp pack weighs less than 2lbs (saves me 7lbs in the 600). If you're staying with a stock bottom end, and need to shave a few extra pounds without a mortgage for CF and Ti, this is a great option.
My price on the 240amp is $160. Available with posts or a quick-disconnect harness- you're choice.

These batteries work with your stock charging system, no modification required. They will hold a charge much longer than an AGM battery. Kept cool and dry, you will see 0 loss over the winter, and could go much longer.
We're recommending the 8 cell (240amp) for 600's, though there are many running the 4cell 120amp on these engines in the bikes. These have been a favorite of road racers for a while now.
I'm validating recommended cell count for total loss systems.

8 cell w/ my 600 battery from last year for size reference. Both post and quick-disconnect styles pictured, Both same price (The competition charges you an additional $35 for a quick disconnect)
At this time, we do not have enough micro-sprint testing in total loss systems to have a recommended cell count for those not running a charging system. 600 class bikes running without the charging system have run 12 cell packs succesfully, but they will need to be plugged in between events.
Clip of the same 8 cell cranking the 1200 coming later this week!
PM or email now- can deliver before or at playday...

Sounds great but what is different about these lithium batterys in comparison to the ones used in RC cars and such? I know that the ones used in cars are very particular with charging times, amperage, voltage etc... if not properly handled they tend to catch fire!

We're using Lithium Iron Phosphate, which will NOT catch fire in the event of a puncture or severe discharge as Lithium Polymers can. In general terms, the LiFEPO4 cell we use is heavier than the typical LiPO cell, and has slightly less capacity. However, the significant safety advantages, stability, lower cost of manufacture, and longer "calendar life" make it ideal for this application.
All things considered, this battery is as safe or safer than the AGM batteries most use.
