These 2 micro classes have been being warned for the past 2 years that excessive rough driving would result in having to put the wings back on the cars. The end of last season as well as this last weekend proved to me that the wings in fact do need to go back on. I understand if some of you feel that this will be detrimental to your racing careers and because of that will not be back. That is completely your choice to make however my decision is final and there will be no further discussion on this matter. I hope you all keep in mind that every decision that I make is what I feel is in the best interest of the drivers. I hope to see you all back on Dec 5th, but if not I wish you all well in your racing!
Thanks, Heather

It seems to me that there will be rough drivers with or without wings! Wouldn't it make more sense to use the black flag??

Wings don't stop rough driving, just watch the Caged Karts, black flags and CONSISTENT calls will!

Have to agree- the tin-foil security blanket will not take the rough out of the driver. Wings only adds confidence by pinning the car down, letting them run wide-open that much more.
Getting sent to the pits might get the message across. If they get mad and don't come back, I guess that fixes it too, doesn't it...

What is the rule on the sportsman class? If it is going to stay nonwing what is going to stop the fathers from putting there car in this class? We are building a new car to run restricted, how many of the cars are coming back in this class as we what to run with somebody?

Among other things the sportsman class doesn't allow anything newer than a 98 motor. No R6's, etc. There rules are posted at pacificminisprints.com

OK Just so I understand the rules, the sportsman run under Pacificminisprint and the stock and restricted run under Demings rule? In the coming races are we going to have to go through tech? Thanks, Tony

The stock and restricted micros rules can be found at spauldingmotorsports.com/messageboard under the oregon karting link however with the wings added the weights will be changed to 700lbs for rest and 750 for stock. We will have a tech person there and micros will be teched.

We like racing at salem because we think running non wing teaches our drivers better driving skills. We vote to run non winged at Salem indoor.

RACING WITH WINGS IN CLOSE QUARTERS WILL ONLY CAUSE MORE DAMAGE ON THE CARS. We wanted to come down to Salem with other drivers and now think twice due to the new wing rule. Rough driving is controlled by the flagger with the black flag. If the flaggers is not controlling the race how is a wing going to help the situaiton?

If you have to rely on the flagger to run your race you have bigger problems. I understand that the black flag needs to be used on some people. The main reason the wings are a good idea is for all of those newer drivers that cant control a non wing car at the best ability as others. The wings will calm the cars done and keep people off one another. It may be more expensive but the drivers that have been racing there, including me, did this to ourselves. So I think everyone needs to go and put the wings on and race clean so show everyone that we can race clean and we deserve to take off the wings. thank you
