As many of you know at this point, Rick Cully took a 10 foot fall from the deck of the Viking Queen into a tank Monday afternoon.Thankfully he landed on his feet, just like a cat.He crushed his L1 vertebrae. He was capable of moving all of his extremities from the time of the incident forward. He was taken to Swedish in Ballard and then transferred to Swedish on Cherry Hill in Seattle (the old providence building). He got out of surgery this evening at about 7:30pm.The orthopedic and neurological surgeon both said things went very well and he is expected to recover.Last we heard he is expected to stay in the hospital for about a week.I will attempt to keep you updated as we learn facts. As we all know hospitals involve a lot of hurry up and wait. Thanks to all of you who have offered support, it is truly apprecaited.

Rick went for a morning stroll with the physical therapist this morning and was moved out of the nero ICU to a regular floor.
