We would like to start out by saying THANK YOU all very much for your feedback on the topic of racing Sunday as a make up race if we are not able to race this Friday.
As most of you are well aware we are now two full months into this race season, however do not have many races to show for it.We have lost 50% of our races to Mother Nature. Like any business, if there is no income eventually there is no business. That is not the path we are looking to take. While this is short notice and not ideal for scheduling it is something we are going to have to do.If we rain out Friday June 4th we will be running Sunday June 6th in hopes to get a race in.This will be a points race, and will be the race in which you will be able to use your rain check entry to the pits from the 21st.We will have a start time for Sunday of 1:00pm.
We are sorry for any negative impact this has for your race team, but hope you can see we are not just doing it because we can.We are looking to keep Deming Speedway a fun place to race for a long, long time!
Let's go racing!

Keep in mind points go to the car so if you are a driver that can not make it, there are drivers out there that I am sure wouldn't mind filling in.

Why cant we just have a makeup (or two) race later in the year? That will give teams a chance to plan for it I know 5 days isnt enough for me and I cant be there Sunday, but could have been with better planning. I dont see it as being fair to be penalized in points for a race that I didnt have a chance to plan for.

agreed. i like the idea of making up races, but if it's on a sunday, and people have prior commitments and may not be able to make it.
is there any way we could make it just a fun race, so that it doesn't penalize those who can't make it?

this maybe a non issue, forecast is getting better, only 20% chance of precip after 4pm.... think possitive.

I understand all of the points vs. no points controversy and I am quite sure Deming Speedway understands the frustration behind that for some as well but quite frankly points won't mean anything if we don't have a race track to race on and they have to lock the gate to one of the best tracks in the country!
It has been raining rain... Not Money! It takes serious time and money to run a race track and with very little return on investment I'm sure. While the track or club didn't plan on any make up races I think it is safe to say that we didn't plan on as many rain outs either.
I am pretty confident that the track is doing what it needs to do to keep the doors open (even knowing that it may not work because there isn't any guarantee's for Sunday either) and have not made this decision without as much thought and input as possible.
It's this simple.... No track....No Points!

Perfectly put Kelly! Personally, I can't imagine Deming Speedway going away due to Mother Nature. We must ban together to make sure this never happens. I'm sure we are all in agreement that it's tough for some to reschedule but I think in the long run it would be a heck of alot tougher to never get a chance to. I also agree it must be a points race, we've only had 3 out of 8 which is extremely sad, but unfortunately Mother Nature is in control. Please everyone find a way to make it happen. LET"S GO RACIN!!!

The track can still make it's money back on the rain outs. Just needs some proper time of notice on Sunday dates. It would help driver wise and fan attendance.
Happy Birthday JR THOMAS!!! What are you now...40?

Try that with your creditors...."Hey I'm not going to be sending you any money for the next several months but I will send you 3 times as much when I do." Bet it doesn't work!

Nice analogy Maucking Bird LOL. I assume you are aware of Deming Speedway's financials? Yeah I know....You don't other than what they put on there website recently. Rain outs happen and rain outs can be made up. Just better planning would help, not chasing day to day. I hope we are racing 2 day's a week here in the future, just need a little better Heads Up is all. Hopefully we race tomorrow. I'm done on this topic.

Let's just hope for good weather on Friday! Then Sunday will be a mute point. It's not an easy situation for anyone involved. Let's just be positive and remember what we all have to be thankful for. See you on Friday!

Psych! Guess we didn't have to race on Sunday after all... Maybe the threat of having to race on Sunday was all it took! But in either case I guess this should put all of us on notice that we may have to race occasionally on Sunday's or at least threaten it so we can race on Friday's so please adjust your "family days" accordingly Mr. TATE PAZASKI!
3 weeks of rain and a smooth dry slick perfect racing surface.... Who would have thought!
