Hi Everyone, I don't know how many of you will remember HotLap Photos who were the track photographers back in the 80s. Some of you are much to young, but Ed and Cat Shaak are there names and they took some really good photos back then. I must say that 90% of them were taken by Cat. Cat unfortunately was diagnosed with M.S. and it affected her eyesight which made it impossible to carry on taking pictures which just about killed her because she loved it so much and would probably still be taking them now. I have a huge stack from back then and I'd like to test your memories. You will see a lot of duplicates but these are also to show you how much things have changed at the track. They will show you also how DIFFERENT the cars were back then. I'm a rookie at this computer gig but I will try to post pics now and keep them coming, so keep an eye on this thread and name as many as you can. ENJOY! By the way, Ed and Cat are my dad and stepmom. Okay, don't have a clue what I'm doing apparently, but I will figure it out and get some pics on here, sorry, stay tuned. Laura

Thanks for putting that pic up for me Brian, and that's another thing that I'm going to need your help with out there is dates. Not very many of these pics have that info, I do know that it's somewhere in the mid to late 80's. Also when I figure out, or have someone help me out, I will have all kinds of pics on here. Sorry, just a rookie trying to learn.

YAY! I did it. Thank You Brian, much appreciated. I will put a few more on here and keep them coming gradually and hopefully together we can figure out who everybody is. I know a lot of them and some I'm brainfading on names but with help we should have them all dialed. Have fun with this and I will give you dates when possible.

These pictures are great! Does anyone remember the little blue mini-wrecker that used to be up there? My dad, Gerb DeJong, built it and we had a lot of fun following Brent Matter and the gang around for a couple of years. If anyone has pictures of it, I'd love to see some! Thanks!

Love this thread, hope you are able to keep it going. It is great to see all of the old pictures from Deming, i think that there are a lot of people that have no idea what it used to be like. This is great! I have dug up a few pictures from our archive....Turner Racing has been fielding cars at Deming since 1984.

Laura here, I'm still doing something wrong while posting pictures, but I'll get it. I'm not sure how it is showing up on your computers but now I have some kind of slide show going on, so make sure you look around. Also, Clay Cup 87 the pits were in the middle so the other shots were between 84-86. If anyone can remember some of this stuff, please let me know. In the meantime just enjoy and watch for more. Thanks.

Could someone please let me know if the text and pics are all messed up on your computer or just mine. Are you getting all the pics or what? I,m getting a little frustrated because it's really messed up on this end. Oh well still a rookie in training, hoping these pics are being seen. Thanks.

Has anyone got any guesses on some of these drivers? Or maybe you have family that were coming to Deming to watch races in the 80's that might know some of these drivers or that is one of them. I'd sure like to here from you. In the meantime, enjoy!
